- **Event Description**: Mit der EP „Walking With My Shadows“ präsentierte die Band Me & Ms Jacobs (MMJ) aus Hannover 2024 eine überzeugende Sammlung von Eigenkompositionen. Songs im Vintage-Sound der 1960er- bzw. 1970er-Jahre zwischen Soul, Rock, Pop, Reggae und Weltmusik-Elementen und Retro-Groove „… irgendwo zwischen Amy Winehouse und Janis Joplin …“ (Neue Presse Hannover, 21. April 21). 

Im Fokus steht seit 2020 die junge Sängerin, Songwriterin und Produzentin Lina Ms Jacobs. Eine ausdrucksvolle Stimme, warm, ausdrucksvoll, sonor und ein wenig verrucht. Urbane, erdige Gitarren-Riffs und treibende Grooves treffen hier auf swingend-soulige Gefilde. Dieser wilde Stilmix ergibt ein Genre, dem sich die Band verschrieben hat: Eclectic Soul. Von sanft bis rockig, stets intensiv und durchaus tanzbar. 

Die biografischen Texte der nostalgisch und modern zugleich klingenden Songs sind erfrischend kraftvoll und authentisch. Die Band trat u.a. als Support für Curtis Harding und Flo Mega & The Ruffcats auf. Neben eigenen Kompositionen mit echtem Hitpotenzial präsentieren die Hannoveraner auch Coverversionen wie z.B. „Beat It“ (Michael Jackson). 

Mittlerweile hat sich die Band auch mit dem Album „On The Run“ (2023) und der EP „Walking With My Shadows“ (2024) zum echten Geheimtipp entwickelt. Neben der Frontfrau besteht die Band aus Laurenz Hintz (dr), Raphael Schweizer (g), Orlando Rometti (b) und Vsevolod Brigida (keys).
